Monitoring of the Influence of Approved PH-therapies RV-PA Coupling
The goal of this observational study is to learn about the acute (days) changes in right ventricular functions caused by initiation of pharmacological therapies in patients with precapillary pulmonary hypertension. The main question it aims to answer is: • Course of afterload and intrinsic contractility throughout the hospital stay Participants will be equipped with a device for continuous monitoring and recording of the right ventricular pressure signal.

Mono vs. Dual Therapy for Pediatric Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension
The investigators' central hypothesis is that early combination therapy with two PAH-specific oral therapies that have been shown to be well tolerated in the pediatric population, sildenafil and bosentan, will result in better World Health Organization (WHO) functional class at 12 months after initiation of PAH treatment than therapy with sildenafil alone.

Multi-marker Approach for Risk Assessment in PAH
Prospective registry including incident patients and prevalent patients which pretends to identify clinical characteristics, treatment trends in-hospital and ten years follow-up outcome through major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) in a China population with well characterized PAH.

National Cohort Study of Idiopathic and Heritable Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension
Pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH), or high blood pressure in the lungs, is a rare condition that can shorten life. Although the cause of this disease is usually unknown, in about 70% of heritable and 15-20% of idiopathic cases there is a change in a gene (a mutation) that controls how blood vessels grow and function. The gene is called bone morphogenetic protein type receptor 2 (BMPR2). Although mutations in BMPR2 are a risk factor for PAH, not everyone with a mutation gets the disease. Additional genetic and environmental factors are likely to contribute. The investigators suspect that mutations in other genes are responsible...

National Registry and Cohort Study of Pulmonary Vascular Disease
This is a observational、multicenter, prospective cohort study for patients with pulmonary hypertension (PH). The purposes of this study were to evaluate the etiology、clinical characteristics、treatment modalities, and outcomes of patients with PH;also to set up registration system of PH in China, to build a database of Chinese PH, to establish a web-based international standard data acquisition system for PH and a multicenter clinical research platform. The results of the study will provide a basis for the future national health policy for prevention and treatment of PH.

Natural History of Sickle Cell Disease
This study is not a treatment protocol and no experimental treatments are involved. Study participants may be seen as needed for clinical, translational and basic research studies, or as medically indicated. Subjects will receive their general medical care outside the NIH and will be seen at our clinic or at CNHS with varying frequency. Subjects may be seen for multiple visits. Subjects may be asked to return for additional testing as needed. Clinical care for patients with sickle cell disease will be provided as appropriate through the Sickle Cell Clinic and the inpatient clinical center....

Natural History Study of Biomarkers in Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension
Background: - High blood pressure in the lungs, known as pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH), is a rare disorder. Some people have disease-associated PAH and some have PAH from an unknown cause. Researchers want to follow the natural history of all PAH patients to understand how PAH progresses in order to discover targets for future research into new treatments. To further identify treatment targets, they will compare healthy volunteers to patients with PAH. Objectives: - To study the natural history of PAH. Eligibility: - Individuals at least 18 years of age who have PAH. - Healthy volunteers...

Nebulized Magnesium Sulfate and Sildenafil for Persistent Pulmonary Hypertension of Newborn
The aim of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of nebulized magnesium sulfate combined with sildenafil citrate, compared with sildenafil citrate alone, in treating neonates with severe persistent pulmonary hypertension on mechanical ventilation.

New Orleans Pulmonary Hypertension Biobank
Pulmonary hypertension (PH) is a serious condition characterized by a mean pulmonary artery pressure >=25mmHg on right heart catheterization (RHC). Despite advances in PH care, outcomes are still sub-optimal and further research is required into the pathobiology of the disease and development of biomarkers that can guide clinical care. The investigators are establishing a biobank to collect samples (blood, urine, stool) from patients with pulmonary hypertension, patients at high risk for pulmonary hypertension, healthy controls, and patients undergoing right heart catheterization. Specimens will be stored for future investigations. ...

Non-invasive Pulmonary Artery Prediction
Cardiac remote monitoring devices have expanded our ability to track physiological changes used in the diagnosis and management of patients with cardiac disease. Implantable remote monitoring technologies have been shown to predict heart failure events, and guide therapy to reduce heart failure hospitalizations. The CardioMEMs System, the most studied and established remote monitoring system, relies on a pulmonary artery implant for continuous PAP measurement. However, there are no commercially available wearable systems that can reproduce continuous PAP tracings. This study aims to determine if a machine-learning algorithm with...
